Abstract

A contemporary intellectual trend called postmodemism is currently the most associated with the category of relativism. Postmodem relativism calls into question the fundamental categories of modem culture. The sting of his criticism specifically addresses the category of truth that has never before been so seriously undermined. Nothing can be known for sure, all foundations are doubtful and shaky. Postmodem relativism seems to be a particular enemy of Christianity. It undermines the claims of both reason and faith. It is a serious threat to the objective knowledge of man, his consciousness and moral sensitivity, and consequently to the whole Christian concept of the human person.
