Magnificat – rewolucyjna modlitwa Maryi w interpretacji papieża Franciszka

Abstract

Posoborowi papieże zgodnie przyznają, że w odniesieniu człowieka do Boga najistotniejszą sprawą jest modlitwa – w przypadku Maryi jest nią kantyk Magnificat. Dla Jana Pawła II jest on „natchnionym wyznaniem Jej wiary”. Benedykt XVI określa go „portretem Jej duszy”. Papież Franciszek upatruje natomiast w nim „modlitwę rewolucyjną”, która stanowi zarazem „jakby fotografię Matki Bożej”. Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą odczytania interpretacji maryjnej pieśni przez ostatniego z nich. Przedłożone w nim refleksje podążają za sugestią papieża Bergoglio. Charakteryzuje on Magnificat i wydobywa z niego teologiczne treści, szkicując jednocześnie duchowość Maryi. Dostrzega w nim modlitwę radości, modlitwę uwielbienia i dziękczynienia Bogu, oraz jej przesłanie profetyczne. Rewolucyjność kantyku tkwi głównie w tym, że wprowadza on nas w Jezusowe „Błogosławieństwa, które są syntezą i pierwotnym prawem ewangelicznego orędzia”.

The post-conciliar Popes unanimously admit that in man’s relation to God, the most essential thing is prayer – in the case of Mary, it is the Magnificat canticle. For John Paul II, it is “an inspired profession of her faith”. Benedict XVI calls it “a portrait (…) of her soul”. Pope Francis, on the other hand, sees in it a “revolutionary prayer”, which is also “like a ‘photograph’ of the Mother of God”. This article is an attempt to interpret this Marian song according to the current Pope. The reflections submitted in it, follow the suggestion of Pope Bergoglio. It characterizes the Magnificat and brings out theological content from it, while sketching Mary's spirituality. He sees in it a prayer of joy, a prayer of praise and thanksgiving to God, as well as its prophetic message. The revolutionary nature of the Canticle lies mainly in the fact that it introduces us to Jesus “Beatitudes, the primordial synthesis and law of the Gospel message”.
