Chrześcijaństwo wobec doświadczenia cierpienia w świetle dialogu katolicko-zielonoświątkowego

Abstract

Human suffering gained a new value with the proclamation of the Gospel truth. The traditional Catholic approach to this issue sees this difficult experience as a source of grace and a resource to union with Christ. Such a perception does not contradict the possibility and the need to pray for its cessation, which, however, does not always take place. Suffering ultimately remains an unfathomable mystery. Pentecostals, however, are not unanimous in assessing the value of human suffering as a means of bringing a positive outcome to the believer. Especially visible in the doctrine of the Faith Movement is the effort to eliminate the suffering of illness and failure from the lives of Christians. The disagreement with linking illness with the cross of Christian life is also visible in charismatic catholic literature.

Cierpienie ludzkie zyskało nową wartość wraz z nadejściem orędzia Ewangelii. Tradycyjne katolickie ujęcie tej kwestii upatruje w tym trudnym doświadczeniu źródło łaski oraz środek ku zjednoczeniu z Chrystusem. Takie postrzeganie nie sprzeciwia się możliwości i potrzebie modlitwy o jego ustanie, które jednak nie zawsze następuje. Cierpienie ostatecznie pozostaje niezgłębioną tajemnicą. Chrześcijanie pentekostalni nie są jednak jednomyślni w kwestii oceny wartości ludzkiego cierpienia jako środka, który może przynieść wierzącemu pozytywny skutek. Szczególnie widoczne w doktrynie Ruchu Wiary jest staranie o eliminowanie cierpienia choroby i niepowodzeń z życia chrześcijan. Brak zgody na wiązanie choroby z krzyżem chrześcijańskiego życia widoczny jest także w charyzmatycznej literaturze katolickiej.
