Abstract

Remainding of activity the oustanding personality living in the region between Odra and Olza rivers, by learning about their life and activity, is one of the method to shaping the patriotic attitude. The were also many catholic prists, who could shape memorable, worthy of imitate attitudes, working in 23 parishes in Katowice and Opole archidioceses on 175 km2 area. There were lived almost 45.000 inhabitants (in Godów, Gorzyce Śląskie, Krzyżanowice and Krzanowice districts, Racibórz and Wodzisław Śląski towns). It was a specific area, where the cultural influences of Poland, Morawia and Germany were in conflict, competing against each other, but also enriched each other. Prists were on duty in social services as a national, political even scientifical activities. During the historical turning points their were learning members of the church how to show the love to the silesian region and to tradition of previous generations. They remind about the history and the role of family and other spiritual values. Priests developed the devoutness, the eucharistic and Marian spirituality. They attracted of the beauty of the material and spiritual culture and beloved polish language. Simply helped many people, defended their dignity. Promoting of the priesthood inheritance needs time and good will of many allies in the local communities. Those who “were passed by” needs the attention and repay the obligation by the members of the church, who took, many times, their help and support in ministry.
