Abstract

Eschatologia katolicka mówi o sądzie jednostkowym i powszechnym. Ten drugi, określany jako Sąd Ostateczny i związany z przyjściem Chrystusa-Króla, dopełni los ludzkości oraz każdego człowieka. Gdy Bóg wkracza w życie człowieka, wnosi w nie pokój. Bóg przychodzi po to, aby odsunąć od człowieka lęk, aby przezwyciężyć jego niepokój i trwogę. Przychodzi, aby obdarzyć życiem, aby zwrócić ku Prawdzie, odsłonić swe oblicze. Chrystus w swoim przyjściu pokaże Boski wymiar sprawiedliwości, która jest miłością miłosierną. Obroni człowieka przed nim samym, przed człowieczą słabością i biedą, przed owocami wyrządzonej krzywdy. W osobie i dziele Chrystusa spotyka się historia i to, co jej się wymyka. Powtórne przyjście Zbawiciela nie ma swego odpowiednika w dziejach, ale ma do nich swe stałe odniesienie. Ze względu na społeczny wymiar grzechu i zła, życie każdego człowieka i dzieje ludzkości jako całości muszą być odniesione do zbawczej męki i chwalebnego zmartwychwstania Odkupiciela. Jego ostateczne przyjście wiąże się z objawieniem dla wszystkich prawdy o Bogu i człowieku oraz Bożej sprawiedliwości jednostkowej i społecznej.

The catholic eschatology deals with the Particular Judgment and The Last Judgment. The Last Judgment is seen as connected with the coming of Christ-King and will fulfill all the humanity and each man. When God intervenes in human life, He brings the peace. The coming of God casts fear out from the man, overcomes human anxiety and his anguish. God comes to give life, to turn to the truth, to reveal His face. Christ in His coming will show divine dimension of the justice, which is the merciful love. Christ will protect a man from himself, from human weakness, poverty and from the fruits of the harm caused. The history and what eludes it, meet in the person and work of Christ. The second coming of the Savior has no equivalent in history, but it has a constant reference in it. The life of every human being and the history of humanity as a whole, by the very reason of the social dimension of sin and evil, must be related to the saving passion and the glorious resurrection of the Redeemer. His final coming is connected with the revelation of the truth about God and man to all people, and with the revelation of God’s justice in individual and social dimension.
