Niezmienność i rozwojowość społecznego Kościoła w encyklice Jana Pawła II Sollicitudo rei socialis

Abstract

The paper relates the social teaching of the Sollicitudo rei socialis to the content of the Populorum progressio as well to the integral social doctrine of the Catholic Church. Analysis of the paper is focused upon the concept of growth in the encyclical. The growth is understood not only in emp.iricel and economonic categories but also as a cultural and spiritual growth that is necessary tor the development of human person. The criteria of social underdevelopment and development are analysed in the encyclical to develop a new perspective for the optimal growth of human society. In the teaching of John Paul II this very perspective is based on theological premises and underlines strong accent of Christian Optimism.
