dc.description.abstract	The article presents the analysis of the biblical foundations of Catholic ecumenism. Cooperation among Christians is based on the unity of all believers in Christ, which flows from the mystery of the Trinity. The high priestly prayer of Jesus is a call for unity understood as unity of disciples with thair master on the model of unity of Jesus with the Father. This vertical dimension results in the mutual unity of disciples. Without conforming to Christ ecumenism can not exist. Dissenting from the principles of Scripture by any of either non-Catholic or in-Church communities, makes ecumenical dialogue with such a group irrelevant. Then the appropriate form of the influence of the Church is evangelization.	en
